Everest Sherpa Trail

11 days Duration
5,545m Maximum Altitude
4-10 Group Size

Embrace remote Sherpa life on this classic trek to Everest, culminating with a helicopter tour that takes you right up to the face of Mother Goddess Sagamartha—Everest herself.

Overview

Starting at Lukla in the high Khumbu, your iconic Everest journey takes you first to Phakding, then to Namche, the town at the end of the world, with a side quest to historic Khumjung. Ascend to Debuche with an excursion to the untouched village of Phortse, then continue into Dingboche valley, home of Tengboche monastery. A short helicopter ride gets you to your destination: Everest Base Camp, where altitude prep will allow you to spend a little time. You then heli back to Lukla, returning to Kathmandu the same day.

Route

It’s hard to choose the most powerful part of this ultimate bucket-list adventure, a classic trek to the lap of Everest: the week of hiking the high Himalayas, the rich taste of life among the Sherpa, the audience with the lama incarnate in the world’s remotest monastery, the extraordinary heli ride into Everest Base Camp amid an endless expanse of peaks, or simply staring into the face of Everest. You get it all on the Everest Sherpa Trail. And with our guides, you don’t even need to be trek-experienced to take this trip.
