It’s feels like a setting from a movie: an eccentric, cliff’s-edge monastery sheltering dramatically under a massive rock.
...But it exists, a twenty-minute hike up from the quaint village of Chheplung, at an elevation of 2760m. Known as Rangdo Gompa, nobody lives at this small, old monastery any longer. The door is locked. But ask around at the lodges to borrow the key if you would like to go inside. If so, leaving a small donation would be nice.
