Kongde Lodge is the last lodge on the Yeti Trail, and but it is not the apex of your trek.
Four rather challenging hours up from the lodge (take a guide), at an altitude of 5000m, sits the beautiful blue pearl of Kongde Lake. Perhaps the most wonderful of Everest region’s stunning high altitude lakes, the serene calmness of its turquoise water is a dramatic mirror, that doubles your view of the lofty peaks all around: including Everest, Lhotse Makalu, Ama Dalam, Thamserku. An eight-hour round trip for the chance to see your reflection in this otherwordly lake that so few will ever know; now that is an apex!
