Day by Day Itinerary

• Day 1 Fly: Lukla (2,840 M) - Trek: Phakding (2,610 M)

  Upon arrival at the Lukla Airport, our representative will receive you and escort you to our lodge in Lukla. Here, you will have breakfast and meet your trekking crew who will help you gear up before setting off through the winding village to start the trek properly at the Khumbu ‘Gateway’.

  Descend on stone trails through rhododendron forests, farms, and charming hamlets to the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. The undulating trail offers glimpses of snow-capped peaks. Enjoy rest stops at small shops to soak in the scene, catch your breath, and get a cup of local tea, coffee, or draft beer.

  Passing the majestic mani stone at Thado Koshi, you will reach our Phakding Lodge for a late lunch. Afterward, you can enjoy free time at the riverside lodge or opt for a short trip to a higher village and a delightful tiny gompa perched on the valley side. In the evening, we gather for drinks by the fire, followed by a delightful meal at our newly built restaurant overlooking the Dudh Koshi River.

• Day 2 Trek: Phakding (2,610 M) - Monjo (2,835 M)

  After breakfast at the lodge, you follow the left bank of Dudh Koshi River, with Thamserku in view. After crossing a stream and climbing through blue pine and silver fir forest, you arrive in a village, Sano Gumela (2,734 M) offering stunning panoramic views of mountains.

  Leaving the popular classic Everest Trail, you will head towards Thulo Gumela village, gently ascending amidst dense pine forests. Here, embrace stunning views of towering peaks, cascading waterfalls, local livelihoods, beautifully crafted stone mani walls, and the iconic symbol of Lu.

  The final climb leads you to Rimishung Monastery, also known as Pema Choling Gumba. This monastery, built 550 years ago by Lama Khenpo Dorji, the abbot of Tibet, follows the teachings of the Nyingma school—the ancient translation school of Tibetan Buddhism.

  Continuing along a trail after the monastery visit, you will follow the right sub-trail and gradually down to Gumela village and continue to descend to Zam Fute, passing monumental mani walls adorned with ancient stone-carved paintings. Rejoining the classic Everest trail, the journey continues to Monjo. On the way, we will have lunch at Benkar. From there you will get a view of Mt. Thamserku and Dudh Koshi River and enjoy the view with fresh Himalayan coffee.

  Upon entering the lodge’s gate, a beautiful long, stone-paved walkway leads you through the garden and up to a warm and welcoming lobby where your trek ends.

• Day 3 Trek: Monjo (2,835 M) - Namche (3,440 M)

  After a soothing walk with descending stone steps from
  Monjo, you will cross a suspension bridge, and reach
  Jorshale. This is the entrance to the National Park where you have to wait while your guide pays the entrance fees.

  You will enjoy a pleasant walk through a pine forest and
  climb to escape a narrow gorge. Passing the entrance to
  Sagarmatha National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site),
  you will cross a river on a suspension bridge. Continuing
  through the wooded valley and crossing another river,
  you will reach a confluence of rivers, one coming down
  from Thame and another from Khumbu. Crossing a
  spectacular high suspension bridge, you ascend gradually
  up to Namche Bazaar from where you get the first view
  of Everest. After checking into the MLN Namche, you can
  either take the time to unwind for the rest of the day or
  experience the Sherpa capital’s cosmopolitan offerings.

  In Namche, you can explore the charm of Namche Bazaar and the stunning 80-year-old monastery adorned with exquisite Thanka paintings of Tibetan deities while enjoying a delightful evening of bar hopping. Namche has transformed with influences from around the world, offering German bakeries, Italian coffee, British pubs, and more.

• Day 4 Namche Excursion

  While staying in Namche, don’t miss the opportunity to hike up to Sagarmatha Next which will take approx. 1.5 hour. After having an early morning breakfast, we will head towards Sagarmatha Next, located in Syangboche near Namche Bazaar. It showcases the transformation of mountain waste into stunning art and design products. It aims to change perceptions about waste and support local stakeholders by providing innovative and sustainable solutions for solid waste management.

  After spending some time here, if you’re eager to explore, consider a gentle 2-hour hike up to gorgeous Khumjung village,
  the home of the Sir Edmund Hillary School (3,750 M) that was built in 1961. As you enter through its modest doorway,
  constructed by Sir Ed himself, you’ll see old artifacts, photos, and films that tell the story before this simple building sparked a wave of change in Solukhumbu as the area’s first school.

  Descend from there to Namche, where you’ll have a delightful lunch at the local lodge. Afterward, you will continue your journey to our lodge along with breathtaking panoramic vistas.

• Day 5 Namche (3,440 M) - Thame (3,800 M)

  After a light refreshment, you will head to the Sagarmatha Viewpoint where you can witness the magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Monjo, and Phakding. You will have breakfast at Namche Lodge and
  trek northwest towards Thame instead of the northeast trail towards Everest which the vast majority of tourists and trekkers take. When headed to Thame, the trail feels distinctly less crowded, with very little tourist traffic but ample opportunities to see the slow mountain life in small villages.

  The village is picturesque and has a magnificent 16th-century Nyingmapa gompa (monastery) built by Lama Rolwa Dorje. Here, you will have lunch at Thamo with breathtaking views. Post-lunch, continue your trek through the beautiful valley to the lodge.

• Day 6 Explore Around Thame

  A steady pace is required for the steep trail up to Thame Monastery. Most people agree that viewing the interior of the traditionally decorated gompa is well worth the effort of the climb. After spending some time here, there is the option to extend your acclimatization walk up to the shoulder of Sumdur Peak Ridge, at 4,830 M, not a true peak, but an amazing view over the valley and the serrated ridges of the Kongde range.

• Day 7 Heli: Thame (3,800 M) - Kongde (4,250 M)

  Today, we embark on a helicopter ride to Kongde. To say your ultimate destination, the Kongde Lodge, as an exceptionally rare Himalayan experience would be an understatement.

• Day 8 Kongde (4,250 M) - Visit Kongde Lake (4,600 M)

  Come face to face with some of the world’s highest peaks before setting down for a full-service champagne breakfast at one of the world’s highest lodges with breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan range.

  After having a scrumptious breakfast, you’ll head towards Kongde Lake, a small crystal-clear lake that awaits those willing to make a nearly two-hour ascent that day. To reflect in that otherworldly pool is truly a sublime achievement.

• Day 9 Heli to Everest Base Camp (5,364 M)

  The helicopter journey from Kongde to Everest Base Camp (EBC) is brief. Throughout this short trip, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayan landscape. You can also visit SPCC and HRA offices, unraveling the roles they play in environmental preservation and mountaineering safety. Engage with climbers for a firsthand exploration of their lifestyle, challenges, and triumphs.

• Day 10 Hike to Kalapathhar (5,644 M)

  The hike leading you to Kalapathhar offers stunning views and a chance to explore the Khumbu Icefall. As night
  falls, indulge in the captivating spectacle of the starry sky, perfect for capturing the beauty of the Milky Way, an enchanting experience for photography and videography enthusiasts. It truly is a day of adventure and celestial wonders.

• Day 11 Heli: EBC (5,364 M) – Lukla (2,840 M)

  After having a scrumptious breakfast, you’ll embark on a thrilling helicopter ride witnessing a birds-eye view of
  glaciers, lakes and the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest along with breathtaking views of Khumbu valley, monasteries, stone hamlets on mountain regions and lush gorges. Finally, we will fly to Lukla, where a celebratory night at the end of your trek awaits, concluding this unforgettable journey.

• Day 12 Fly to Kathmandu (1,400 M)

  Bid farewell to the Himalayas on the short but spectacular flight back to Kathmandu. In clear weather, this can be one of the highlights of your tour, offering amazing views of the surrounding mountains.
