Last Town in Khumbu

mountain village in khumbu

Namche is the last real stop in the Everest region for shopping, dining out or even taking a break at beer gardens.

Indeed, Namche bazaar is reminiscent of Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu—but with better views. As a hub of cultural experiences and day hikes, it is the ideal acclimatization station. The Everest National Park Headquarters, ten minutes from MLN Namche lodge, is open to public and offers splendid views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including of Everest and Ama Dablam. Just outside its gates is the Sherpa Culture Museum, a worthwhile stop to immerse yourself in Sherpa culture and the history of Everest summits. Don’t miss the monastery, either!
