what to expect

Annapurna RegionDharampani Lodge

Hidden in a remote and beautiful valley between Chitwan and Pokhara, Seti River Camp is a collection of low-impact, permanent tents dotted across pretty terraced gardens set on the banks of that milky river. You must raft three hours to reach camp, which includes a lunch stop; but don’t worry: these gentle river rapids are suitable for all ages.

Tented Comfort

The camp’s sixteen twin-bedded tents sit securely on raised concrete platforms, beneath thatched or slated roofs. Each tent has a pretty patio area in front, and in back an en-suite bathroom with hot running water. You get a little bed light and solar-powered fan to keep things cool in the valley heat. It’s all extremely relaxing; especially on the veranda where afternoon tea is served as you loll in a hammock listening to the river gurgle by.

Family Adventure

This fantastic two or three day stop-off linking Pokhara with Chitwan National Park serves up an ideal family adventure. The camp includes a stone dipping pool, two campfire areas and a shaded wood-framed restaurant. The bird-watching, hiking, swimming, and rafting will keep you busy, but after days of trekking, simply lounging on a chaise or floating on the river with a hand trailing in the water, feels like bliss.

This camp is also a great base to explore the local rural areas that are some of the most untouched in Nepal. About an hour and a half away is a village full of families going about their day. They very rarely see tourists and their welcome to you will be warm.
