A journey-in-place both inward and adventurous, opening you to the secrets, culture and landscape of the Forbidden Kingdom.

Route

Arrive via a spectacular morning flight across the mountains to Jomsom at Mustang’s southern border. A newly drivable road brings you by jeep to Moksha resort—the perfect jumping off point for adventures in the arid, almost lunar landscape of this Forbidden Kingdom. Each day you’ll do something new—Follow the bed of the Kali Gandaki River by horseback, trek the majestic Annapurna foothills, cycle the alleyways of Jomsom, exploring Mustang life—and each afternoon you’ll return to Moksha, where another kind of journey takes over, that of rejuvenation and relaxation.

Details

With floor to ceiling windows making panoramic views of the Nilgiri mountains practically part of the décor here, Moksha Mustang is designed to tempt guests into the great outdoors. Plan at least a four-day stay to participate in activities. A good trek on foot or by horse is a must. Mountain bike through Jomsom’s quirky alleyway, and off along scenic nearby routes. Unique rock formations in the area are perfect for rock climbing, a great way to explore the mountains and enjoy the views. Learn traditional archery—a skill once needed by all locals—and in Spring, see the professionals compete.

As well as a base camp for adventure, Moksha Mustang is also a dedicated center for yoga and meditation programs, perfect whether you are beginning your yoga journey, or deepening your existing practice. After outward and inward adventures, leave a day or two for just unwinding by the pool in view of some of the highest peaks in the world.
